Londe Third Grade |
Hello!
My name is Joanne Londe. I joined the North Ridge third grade
team in 2007 after moving from California where I had been
a third grade teacher for 8 years. Originally I am from England,
and although I've been in the U.S. for over 10 years now,
you might still detect a slight accent! I graduated from Nottingham
University with a B.Sc. in Mathematical Physics. How I ended
up teaching third grade is a long story (involving a stint
in South Korea working as a teacher's aide and teaching English)
but it was definitely a great career choice!
As a teacher I believe that I have the most rewarding and
interesting job possible. Every day is different, bringing
with it new successes and challenges. I look upon my students
as individuals, each with their own special qualities and
all with the potential to shine. In our class we work hard
to create an environment that is happy and safe where everyone
can learn.
Outside of school, my family keep me very busy. I am happily
married to David, a high school social studies teacher. We
have two wonderful children, Rachael, who is a student here
at North Ridge, and Nathan, who is a preschooler. We try to
spend as much time together as possible; playing, going for
walks, and exploring all the many things to do here in Raleigh.
I also enjoy reading, watching movies and working out at the
YMCA.
