Letter From PTA President

Dear Parents,

As many of you may already know we have a rich tradition of excellence here at North Ridge! Our goal is to foster an environment where our teachers, administrators and our children can do their best work.

Your Parent Teacher Association (PTA) works hand-in-hand with teachers, staff, and administrators to enhance the elementary experience for all of our students. We are parents and teachers who care about children and education.

What Does Your PTA Do?
Parents are often surprised to learn that so many of the programs and resources at elementary schools today come from PTAs. Through fundraisers and donations, we strive to provide the services not funded by the county and that help to make North Ridge a fun and engaging place for our children to begin their school experience.

Here is a sample: weekly newsletter, school directory, school carnival (Unicornucopia), book fair, staff appreciation, hospitality, reading incentive, volunteer tutoring center, 5th grade end-of-year festivities, teacher mini-grants, technology upgrades for the school, school spirit wear, and support for Odyssey of the Mind, Art, Music, ESL, PE, Safety Patrol, Copy Room and Health Room.

These samples are just some of what we do to support our school each year. By working together, we make a difference in the education of all students here at North Ridge!

How Can You Get Involved?
There are myriad ways to contribute. Volunteer in the classroom. Chaperone a field trip. Attend PTA meetings. Send in school supplies. Great schools don't just happen - they are created. When you join the PTA here at North Ridge, you directly affect what our school is able to accomplish. Your contributions DO make a difference. We would love to have every family join us!

North Ridge Elementary is wonderful place for your children to begin their education, and I look forward to working with you this year.

Sincerely,

Christie Burris
PTA President
