Music

Ms. Ann Ferri is our Music Specialist.  Every class has a weekly scheduled day that they attend music. Ms. Diane Garner will be teaching music to Kindergarten and 2nd grade classes. The music education curriculum at North Ridge is based on the National Standards and the NC Music Education Curriculum standards.  Through singing, listening, playing instruments, and many other activities, students receive a comprehensive curriculum-based music education. Music education offers a wide variety of experiences in which a student can develop basic music skills, creativity, and self-confidence.  Because music is an academic discipline, which has a language of its own, it is an essential part of the balanced curriculum.  Through music education, students will explore an array of music literature as they develop an understanding of the relationship of music to life.
