About Us

North Ridge Elementary has long been known as a hidden jewel of North Raleigh. Tucked among the trees in the North Ridge neighborhood, our school has been part of the community since 1967. North Ridge was rebuilt during the 2018–2019 school year, and in August 2019, students and staff returned to a new building with the same welcoming neighborhood spirit that has defined our school for generations.

At the heart of North Ridge is a dedicated and experienced staff who believe that strong relationships create the foundation for meaningful learning. Our teachers take the time to know their students, celebrate their growth, and provide high-quality instruction that helps each child reach their potential.

The sense of community at North Ridge extends beyond the classroom. Students are encouraged to be kind, responsible members of their school community and have opportunities to get involved through clubs, leadership roles, the arts, athletics, and other activities throughout the year.

Families are an important part of life at North Ridge. It is common to see families walking to and from school, volunteers helping throughout the building, and neighbors gathering for school events. Our PTA continues that tradition by bringing families together and supporting experiences that enrich school life for our students and staff.

North Ridge may have a new building, but the heart of our school remains the same: a close-knit neighborhood community where children are known, families belong, and learning matters.
